Do allergy shots really work and how effective are they?

I have really bad allergies. I've taken Zyrtec, singulair, and Zyrtec D. I'm on Zyrtec D right now and none really seem to be working.I'm thinking about getting them, but I want to see other peoples opinions. Thanks! Oh and sorry for misspellings!
