Can something be done about my wife being called a B**** in the work place?

I've worked in HR before and taken many cles on workplace etiquette. I would suggest she contact his manager directly and file a complaint with them. And request to be kept informed of the outcome of this. If they refuse to do anything about it go one step above them. Depending on how far you want to take this matter I would go to the highest person you can take it to to get something resolved. Now I don't think he would be fired most likely just reprimanded but an apology in writing isn't to much to ask for. However and I am not condoning his actions in any way and as inappropriate as it may be for him to use that language around your wife or any woman for that matter it does happen. And unless she is willing to follow through with it and make an issue out of it. I would suggest just letting it go. But if she is willing to go forward with this let her be prepared for the consequences that may occur. Depending on the working environment employees may look at her differently because she made such a big deal out it. I have seen it happen as others may not see as big of an issue with it. Good Luck!
