How much is a silver maple tree worth, about 20ft height and about 20 inches around, very healthy & beautiful.?

a salesman slammed into it causing a huge gash, it will probably die now. it was in the center of a beautiful flower garden ( that I worked so hard on) that also got trampled and I lost a lot of great flowers, foliage, and hard to find summer bulbs. so I am trying to come up with an estimate for that company and I am not sure what the value of the tree is.
